what is a cord set?

a cordset is the combination of an electrical socket and an electrical cable. the sockets securely hold the lamp shades in place, and are also where the bulb gets screwed into.

what type of cord sets are available?

we offer two types of cord sets, both of which are available in black and white colors. hardwired cord-sets are ready to wire and include a 5" diameter ceiling canopy kit in the matching color. plug/switch swag-sets are 15' in length and plug into standard US electrical outlets. they also have a switch integrated into the cord about mid-length. swag-sets are available for other countries as well! please contact us if you're outside of the united states.

what about cord lengths?

we offer two standard lengths for hard-wired cord sets - 4' long and 8' long. you'll choose this length as an option in the online store when adding lights to your shopping cart. the cords can be cut on-site to any custom length needed. the plug + switch swag sets are 15' in length.

we can provide custom cords longer than 8' if you need at an additional charge. just contact us before placing your order.

are graypants™ light fixtures UL listed?

all standard electrical components used in our lights have been fabricated in accordance with UL regulations. also, we're happy to work with commercial projects that require the entire lighting assemblies to be UL listed. this incurs an additional fee per fixture that varies depending on the order.

can scrap lights accommodate different voltages and socket types?

yes! we supply all of our lights with standard 120v E26 lamp holders. however, we can usually accommodate most international standards and other various socket types upon request at an additional cost. please contact us before ordering if you're interested.
